Greetings!
I’m going to make this a quick newsletter. Precision Builders have finished the stabilization. We needed to do a little more work than originally figured, but this should really hold the building till be can begin the restoration. As you can see from the pic, “ya got to break a few eggs to make an omelet.” Mary, I and the Overmyers went to the Indiana Ghost Tracker meeting last Friday (11/01/02), at the Porter County Jail House Museum, and explained our need to tear down the dilapidated garage that’s next to the lodge. Being the troopers that they are, close to ten hands went up to help us. Even their President, Mike McDowell, is planning on helping us. We’re planning on have the tear down and clean up on Sunday (11/10/02) at around noon. We will meet either at the lodge or here at our house (22 West 1050 South, Kouts). We’ll be at either place. I’d like some idea of how many people will be helping us, so please respond The tearing down of the garage is important because it’s something that the people passing by can actually see and I’m hoping that we can get some news coverage out of it. Please let me know who can make it and any further info you may need. This will probable be the last chance to do it before the Winter and the holidays arrive.
<[?Originally, we were planning on having a meeting on Sunday November tenth with Dr. Mark Schurr giving a talk, but unfortunately he needed to have some surgical work done and will not be able to make it. The KVHS board met Saturday, 11/02./02, and decided to put off the meeting till Sunday December tenth to give Mark more time to recover. We won’t know for sure if he’ll be up by then, but the meeting will go as scheduled. The KVHS Board also voted to schedule quarterly general meetings throughout 2003, a schedule of meetings will be sent out. The annual picnic will be a social event in addition to the meetings. The Newsletter will return as a quarterly issue to be mailed prior to the general meetings. The board is hard at work planning the budget and programs/activities/projects for 2003. I’ll get back to you as soon as we have more details for the December 10 meeting.
